Dog Treats You Can Make

5 cups flour
1/4 cup crushed peanuts
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 egg
1/4 cup oil
1 1/2 cups pureed banana (about 3 bananas)
2 teaspoons vanilla
Water as needed
Mix flour, peanuts and baking soda together and make a well in the middle. Add egg, oil, banana and vanilla. Mix well by hand. Add water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until all the flour can be mixed in.

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F, and make logs of the dough, about 2 inches high and 3-4 inches wide. Flatten so they are about 1 inch high. Place on ungreased cookie sheets and bake for 30-40 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes. Cut into 1/2 inch slices, then cut those slices into dog-treat-sized bites (large for large dogs, smaller for small dogs). Then return to oven and bake again for at least 20 additional minutes. If you wish treats to be very crispy, turn oven off and leave treats in oven overnight.
